I had no idea!

Well we took our first trip to the baby store this weekend and let me say for the record that the options are a little too much to handle. How do you decide what exactly you need (or want)?

Stroller, car seat, and infant carrier all in one. Deflector shields optional. Anyway, it was an eye-opening event. There's a lot to get ready for.

Other than that, things are moving right along. Brooke is experiencing some morning and afternoon sickness but nothing she can't "model" through. Her appetite is getting a little wierd. We've had plain pasta two nights in a row! She hasn't started to really gain any weight yet but all the literature says you may not until the 2nd trimester. Thanks for all the cards and calls! It's nice to hear from everyone. We'll keep you informed as the weeks go on.

A few months back, when we were trying to get pregnant, Brooke seriously got this in her fortune cookie.




Of course, she took it as a sign and stuck it on our refrigerator as a good luck talisman. We noticed it a few days ago and got a little chuckle. But then I took a closer look. The third lucky number is the due date! Spooky!

Our First Post

Hi all,

We will be using this blog format to post pictures and information throughout our pregnancy and after the birth. We will try to post updates at least weekly during these early days. I'm sure there will be more to talk about as we get into later months.

Anyway, we went to the doctor last week for a sonogram. The doc said she was 7 1/2 weeks along based on the length and he said the due date was Oct. 26th. I know there is one family member pulling for Oct. 17th. And Granny Moody's bday was Oct. 30th. We'll just have to wait and see.

We could see the heartbeat in the sonogram and he said everything looks good so far. The lab work was all normal. Brooke is experiencing some morning sickness (and not always in the morning) but overall she is getting along great. We're both learning a lot and TEVO'ing episodes of "A Baby Story" on The Learning Channel.
