Trying to Walk

Parker is still working on walking. He can stand alone for as long as he wants and he has actually taken a few steps but crawling is still the path of least resistance. I guess he’ll be walking soon enough.

UPDATE: We've got some clips of Parker working on his classic toy where you fit different shapes into a ball. He got 6 out of 10. Hey, that's a solid B at ECU!

Parker graduated from “Wobbler I” to “Wobbler II” this week. The WII class is technically supposed to be for walkers but he is really close and he seems to enjoy the toys and other kids in the bigger class. So it’s back to being the little kid again.

Parker now has six teeth! We’re trying to teach dental hygiene. It’s hard without laughing.

Mama’s Boy.

One of Parker’s favorite pastimes is plundering.

We have two mischievous little boys in our house: Parker and Willis.

Roxy and Willis have pretty much settled in.

And finally, he has learned to wave bye bye. Here he is waving before crawling away to get into trouble.

We have several good videos but they are a pain to post. I'll work on adding them to Youtube soon so keep an eye out.

Summertime!

Parker loves the water! He loves the tub; he loves the pool; he loves his sippy cup; it doesn’t matter as long as it involves water. We worked on dipping his head underwater this weekend. Supposedly, you just blow in a baby’s face to make them take a breath, and then you quickly dunk them under and back up. It kind of works but not quite as well as they make it sound on TV. Parker really has no objections to getting his head wet but if he swallows a little water he chokes a little bit. Then I just flip out. I think it’s going to take more courage from me than from him.

Here was Parker last weekend in Cary. Chillin' with the Ladies.

Bath time is his favorite time of the day!

Here's some from this past weekend with Mommy and Daddy. He loves this little float thing.

Here's a few out of the water.

Anyway, sorry for the long time between posts. We’re super busy, yadda, yadda, yadda… Everyone’s giving me a hard time so I’ll do better this month. One thing that would help would be to have some pictures taken by our family and friends. If any of you have some good ones of the little sea monster, email them to me and I’ll make sure to post them.

Parker’s starting to say “mama” and “dada” with some consistency. I’ll try to get it on video in the coming weeks.

Until next time…

8 Months Old and Changes

Parker turned eight months old this past week and started day care. He’s the youngest baby in the “Wobbler” group. This is the “not quite toddler but somewhat mobile” group. In other words, if you put the child on the floor in one spot, do they stay there? The answer with him is NO! We took a video of Parker just starting to crawl back on June 1st and now he’s moving right along. But his big thing is still standing up. As soon as he reaches something in the room, he tries to climb up into a standing position. It can be a little dangerous and we have to watch him close.

Here’s a video of him doing his tricks this past week:

He still loves meal time and we’ve started him on cheerios.

Parker loves the water. We’ve got some pictures of him in the pool at our complex and in the kiddy pool at Grandma and Grandpa McGhees’.

It has been a busy couple of weeks for us. We finally moved out of Greensboro and into a nice little apartment in Burlington. It took an act of congress to get Time Warner out here to install our cable. We had to go two weeks with no TV and no internet. Torture.

Our new apartment is right down the street from where we’re building our house (and Parker’s day care). We met with the builder this week and they have already poured the footing on our lot. It’s cool to see it finally started. If all goes as planned, we should be in the house by Thanksgiving. Brooke starts her new job on Monday. That will be a big adjustment for us all but she is excited. We miss San Diego and our friends there terribly but it is nice to be home again. So far this summer we’ve been down to the beach with Uncle Dave and Aunt Nancy, out on the lake with Uncle Chad, Grandma Moody has done a lot of babysitting, and we went to the Jimmy Buffet concert.

Now that I have internet again, I promise not to be so long between posts. Until next time, Parker and Willis say “goodbye”.
