Easter Pictures

This was our first Easter in NC in seven years. It was great to be able to see our family and for them all to see Parker.

Parker is almost 6 months old and getting bigger every day. He’s beginning to sit up well on his own and he can even standup on his own by holding onto a coffee table or chair. He has been eating rice cereal for a week or more. He took right to it and even grabs the spoon and pulls it towards his little mouth.

We have a ton of photos from Easter weekend and earlier. It would just take too long to comment on them all so we’re just going to post them below in no particular order. Enjoy.

Here we are on my Bday (St Patricks Day)...

Playing ball on Easter weekend...

Parker seems a little too happy...

Smell something?

Better check that diaper...

Every year since I've known her, Brooke has dyed Easter Eggs and I have grudgingly participated. Finally, she has someone to help her. I think she was happy…

Johnathan and Jess came by...

These are the photos that we'll show his first prom date...

Here he was at Aunt Jill's house on Easter...

Finally, he got to try out his swing skills...

Stay tuned. We have some new videos coming soon.

Back in Carolina!

Well we made it.

We’re now officially relocated to Greensboro, NC. It's cold and it rains every other day. But we actually do like the area. We're living in temporary housing for the time being so it doesn't quite feel like home just yet.

But Mr. Willis has already settled in…

For the trip back last week, Brooke and Parker flew while Dad, myself, and the dogs drove across country. We took I-40 from Barstow all the way to Raleigh, retracing the exact route Brooke and I followed out there in February of 2001. It’s hard to believe seven years have gone by.

We spent 4 days and 3 nights on the road. Roxy and Willis had to get used to long days in the car and staying in hotels at night.

Here they are enjoying a hotel in Amarillo, TX.

This is our last picture taken in front of Parker's first home. This is where we took those belly shots every few weeks.

Our friends threw us a going away party the week before we left. Here are just a couple of shots from that night.

We have too many good ones to post them all so I need to get them out to everyone in SoCal some other way. I’ll put them up on snapfish or something and email folks when I do.

The drive back meant that I went almost 5 days without seeing Parker and I swear I could see the difference in him when we arrived. He is growing and developing so fast now. He reaches and grabs everything and it all goes straight to his mouth. He might be in the early stages of teething, we’ll see.

But his big thing right now is rolling over. He was doing it before we left Encinitas but only a few times. Now he won’t stay on his back much at all. He rolls right over and starts trying to get to things. He’s tucking his legs up under him and I think we might be dealing with crawling in the not too distant future. I’ll get it on film soon and post it.

UPDATE: We were able to get a couple of clips of him rolling over this morning. Here you go...

In the mean time, here are some of the latest shots.

I’ll work on getting up some videos in the next week and updating on Parker’s progress.

First Cold!

The big story of the past week has been Parker's first cold. He came down with it last weekend and by Sunday night, he was coughing constantly and his nose was running bad. So Monday morning I took him to the walk-in clinic at his pediatrician’s office. That was a circus. We got there 5 min after opening but there were already 20 kids in front of us. Some were clearly sick but I honestly think some of the older kids were just trying to get out of school. Anyway, he's on antibiotics for the first time. I feel bad having a 4 month-old on meds but it doesn't feel as bad as looking at a 102.5 fever in the middle of the night and a baby crying in pain.

The good news is that he responded right away to the medicine and he's doing very well. But we were warned that we would catch everything that he gets and now Brooke and I are fighting a cold. That's hard when we're trying to wrap up at our jobs and get ready to move.

For those of you who haven't already heard, we are re-locating to the east coast. I'm going to be working in the Greensboro Triad area and we're actually moving the last week of the month. It is bitter sweet in that we can't wait to be closer to family but we are so going to miss SoCal and our dear friends here. That is a subject for its own blog so I'll leave it at that.

Also congratulations to Cori and Patrick on the birth of their twins. Any pregnancy is a challenge but twins are extra tough. But they stayed strong throughout and now have two beautiful baby girls. Way to go guys!

We've put up three new videos taken in the last few days. Here's the tickle one.

And here are a few pictures taken lately:

I'll try to get a post up as we get near the move and how that's going with the baby. Stay tuned...
